While there she studied animal anatomy, nutrition, domestic animal science, exotic animal science, animal grooming, animal nursing procedures and animal handling.

This program prepared Brittanya for her role as Cochrane's Animal Control Officer that she held from 2013 until March 2016. Ensuring all local homeless animals get a second chance at a loving home is what motivated her to do this job.

Brittanya has worked with over 1000 owned and rescue dogs.

To bring you the most up to date, humane, and balanced dog training approach she has continued her education. Brittanya completed the Training Cesar's Way Fundamentals Course, in California, with The Dog Whisperer. While there with her poodle, Kenya, she learned so many things including an understanding of dogs energy and how they communicate. She then took Heather Beck's Dealing with Difficult dogs Course in Alberta. Brittanya decided there that she would Shadow Heather Beck of K9 Lifeline, in Utah where she learned many new training techniques Heather has collected from the top minds in the dog training world. Brittanya was certified in E-Touch and assisted in the training of a domestic fox. She continues to learn from the top trainers that specialize in aggression. In 2015 Brittanya attended Ted Efthymiadis' Seminar on Handling Aggressive Dogs, continued on to Halifax to learn more about aggressive dogs from Ted, owner of Mango Dogs, and attended a seminar from Nelson Hodges, who owns Canine Content in Texas. She now has the knowledge and support to train even the most difficult dogs!

Brittanya is also Certified in Walks and Wags Pet First Aid.

While Brittanya is the main care giver, the entire family assists in making Cochrane Dog Trainer the great place it is! Michel Boucher, Brittanya's partner, helps care for the dogs staying with us as well as being an MNR Fire Ranger. Shelley Henley, Brittanya's mother, books all of the appointments and will be the one to return your calls! The rest of the family does what ever is needed to keep this business running smoothly.

A love of all animals has led Brittanya to working with rescue animals as a member of Northern Ontario Animal Welfare Society (NOAWS). She also assists many other rescues with training, transporting, and fostering. Homeless dogs trained at Pampered Pawz will be featured on this website for adoption.
